Sep 9th, 2007 This is a PDF of Mary Jean Winter's Miser BASIC source code from the book Commodore 64 Fun & Games Volume 1. This took me about an hour to scan. I nearly broke my arm doing so too, since the scanner was above my head and the book being bigger than the scanner. In addition, I had to use more force than the weight of a brick in order to hold down the spine. Have fun, hopefully the OCR (Optical Character Recognition) did its job well enough to not waste too much time. Btw, the curly braces indicate special codes of which i still need to scan the translations for. Also, the subscripted ^ means a single space. Needless to say after 3 unsuccessful scans of which I had to completely start over after doing, I was burnt. The HP scanner software is total crap since you must preview a page, then choose crop and rotation and scan a second time while the oversized book has not moved while automatically committing as the next PDF page without preview of secondary scan. There is no undo button for this, and cancel during secondary scan results in still using the mistake scan. Very much needless pain in my opinion.

Sep 10th, 2007 This is a PDF of the BASIC source code of Andy Stadler's sequel to Mary Jean Winter's Miser. This comes out of the book Commodore 64 Fun & Games Volume 2. This took me about 15min to scan. This time the scanner was in a sane location relative to the computer. Have fun, hopefully the OCR (Optical Character Recognition) did its job well enough to not waste too much time. Btw, the curly braces indicate special codes of which i have now scanned the translations for from Vol1 and Vol2.

Sep 10th, 2007 These are two books I got off Amazon.com. 'Commodore 64 Fun & Games : Volume 1' and 'Commodore 64 Fun & Games : Volume 2'. They were both the same price of 7.50, however shipping had different options due to two different vendors. Volume 1, I bought via Laura Nevada Sales. Volume 2, I bought through ADSRUS Inc. I ordered them both on September 1st, 2007. Volume 1 arrived within a week, while Volume 2 arrived roughly 4 days later. Both are in the condition the two sellers claimed on Amazon, and were all-in-all a good buy. I had thought they were both Volume 1, however Volume 2 was labeled 'Commodor 64 Vo : Hc' so i followed my gut and ordered both copies. Yes, as it was turned out to be in fact Vol1 and Vol2. So "SCORE!!" Anyways, even better, I found out Volume 1 has Miser while Volume 2 has Miser II. Awesome, eh? Never knew there was a sequel. I bought these books for the Miser's House Win32 port i am working on. Since now I find out there is a Miser II, double the "SPOILS OF WAR!!" Hip Hip -- Hooray!
